MEET LIBRARIAN GRACE JACKSON-BROWN

Grace Jackson-Brown was employed by Indiana University Libraries as African American Studies subject specialist from 1991 to 2007.  While at IU Bloomington, she completed her doctorate in Journalism.

Following the passing of Wilmer Baatz in 1991, she became librarian for the newly-named "African American Culture Center Library."

Exhibit highlights include:

  • a series of photographs depicting Jackson-Brown with students
  • documentary evidence of her contributions to the growth of the African American Studies Collection.

A draft form of a history Ms. Jackson-Brown completed about the Black Culture Center library in 1994 was found but is offered here only in excerpted form.

[Please visit the webpage listing her selected publications for more information on her writings while at Indiana University.]
